As a small business owner, I think I can speak for all small business owners when I say we really appreciate it when customers shop our small businesses. We understand there are many places to shop including online but when you shop local and small, you help support your community by keeping buildings occupied and businesses open. So THANK YOU to all who shopped with us on Shop Small Saturday; a nationwide campaign by American Express encouraging people to shop small businesses.
And of course, if you couldn’t make it out to the businesses in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday there are a whole bunch more days before Christmas to stop in and check out what everyone has. You’re sure to find something for someone on your gift giving list.
For this week’s blog, I want to tell you about the 2nd Annual Maury’s Mayberry Christmas Celebration coming up this Saturday, December 1st in Mt. Pleasant. Donna Morency, Director of the Community Development Corporation and team has been working diligently to bring a full day of festivities to everyone.
There will be shopping and dining of course available all day in the stores and restaurants. In addition there will be an Opie look a like contest, a live radio show you can join in and watch/listen from 11am-1pm at Hay Long Hall which is the Viva NashVegas show.
And in addition to the shops with store fronts being open for business, thanks to the manager of Buckhead Coffee, Candace, – she has arranged for several home based businesses to have a ‘pop up shop’ in the building across from City Hall on Main Street. There will be a sign and maybe balloons out there so you won’t miss it. Several of the home based businesses will have items for sale under one roof so be sure to check them out.
There will also be the Rotary’s Christmas Parade at 5pm on Saturday which is a great tradition of Mt. Pleasant followed by live music at Hay Long Hall starting at 7pm.
Lots to do and lots of places to visit so be sure to participate. You’ll be glad you did.
Until next time 🙂 Angela
